Windows Vista: Installer continues to launch on MindManager startup

Applies to:  MindManager Pro 7,8

Symptom
MindManager installer continually launches when starting MindManager or other Microsoft programs on Windows Vista.

Resolution
A known solution to this issue is to follow the instructions below.

Step by step instructions:

1. Download the psexec.zip file: http://cssdl.mindjet.com/psexec.zip

2. Download the setacl.zip file: http://cssdl.mindjet.com/setacl.zip

3.For MindManager 7 users:  Download MM 7 set Permissions.zip: Set MM 7 set permissions.zip

   For MindManager 8 users:  Download MM 8 set Permissions.zip: Set MM 8 set permissions.zip

4. Create a folder in the root of your C:\ drive called "Fix" i.e. the path should be "C:\Fix".

5. Unzip "SetACL" and place the main EXE file (SetACL.exe) in the "C:\Fix" folder.  An easy way to do this is the open the zip and drag the file to the folder

6. Unzip "Psexec" and place the "psexec.exe" file in the "C:\Fix" folder.

7. Unzip MM 7 set permissions.zip or MM 8 set permissions.zip  and place both files in the “C:\Fix” folder.

8. Now right-click the "Runme.cmd" file and choose the option named "Run as administrator".
