MindManager 8 Service Pack 1 Functional Updates
The following updates have been made in MindManager 8 for Windows Service Pack 1.

Mindjet Share
|
MindManager 8 Service Pack 1 features an update to support the publishing of Mindjet Player files to a Mindjet hosted environment. Now you can email links to a hosted Mindjet Player file or post directly to your Facebook LinkedIn, MySpace, blogs, and other social environments directly from MindManager 8.
Recipients or viewers can view your map inside their browser simply by clicking on the link and do not require MindManager.

Mindjet Player |
Mindjet Player maps are now generated via a Mindjet web service instead of locally on your desktop computer. This will require users to be connected to the Internet when trying to create a Mindjet Player file, either via the Export as Mindjet Player or Send as Mindjet Player functionality.
NOTE: The use of a web service to create a Mindjet Player file is for transformation purposes only and no data is stored on Mindjet servers. |

Mindjet Catalyst Support |
MindManager 8 Service Pack 1 features an update to support the new Mindjet Catalyst collaborative environment (which replaces the former Mindjet Connect). See the Mindjet Catalyst FAQ for more information.
Mindjet Catalyst features the same co-editing capabilities to map with your peers at the same time and the same secure workspaces for collaborative file sharing, but also features improved web conferencing capabilities, such as Video, VoIP, and support for external web conferences. |

Web Services |
StrikeIron: The StrikeIron web service for Dun and Bradstreet searches has been removed. StrikeIron has discontinued support for this web service. |
Fixed in MindManager 8 Service Pack 1
MindManager 8 Build 8.1.916
Issue: Users receive an error when trying to add RSS news feed to library (especially on Windows Vista operating systems).
Resolution: Fixed in MindManager 8.1.916. User no longer receives error message.
Issue: Microsoft Office application processes run in background even after closed when viewing a Microsoft Office application in the embedded browser.
Resolution: Fixed in MindManager 8.1.916. Microsoft Application processes terminate properly after application is closed in MindManager embedded browser.
Issue: A crash occurs if the user presses <ALT><F> for an extended period of time.
Resolution: Fixed in MindManager 8.1.916. MindManager 8 Service Pack 1 does not crash when the user presses <ALT><F> for an extended period of time.
MindManager 8 Service Pack 1 Known Issues
Issue: The Using Mindjet Catalyst tutorial and link in the MindManager Learning Center is available only in English (not available in German, French, or Japanese).
Workaround: Open the MindManager online help and view the “Collaborating with Mindjet Catalyst” topic for complete information on using MindManager with Mindjet Catalyst.
Issue: The Sign In form for MindManager 8 Japanese version has labels on the buttons truncated (text is cut-off).
Workaround: None. This issue will be addressed in a future MindManager 8 service pack.
Issue: The Amazon.com web service does not work for MindManager German, French, or Japanese versions.
Workaround: None. This issue will be addressed in a future MindManager 8 service pack.
Issue: The sequence of using Pack & Go followed by Export to PowerPoint will cause MindManager to crash.
Workaround: Do not Export to PowerPoint immediately after using the Pack & Go functionality.
Issue: Mindjet Player PDF files do not work on Mac platform.
Workaround: Instead of sending Mac users Mindjet Player PDF files, use Mindjet Share to host a Mindjet Player file online and send the Mac user a link. The Mac user can open and view the Mindjet Player file in their browser.
