Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

Symptom When launching or activating MindManager, you receive error message 'An exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.'

Cause MindManager is currently not compatible with the FIPSAlgorithmPolicy, a security setting in Windows XP & Vista. To check if the policy is enabled, you will need access to REGEDIT.EXE.

Windows Vista
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FIPSAlgorithmPolicy\Enabled
This registry value reflects the current FIPS setting. If this setting is enabled, the value is 1. If this setting is disabled, the value is 0.

Windows XP  
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FIPSAlgorithmPolicy
This registry value reflects the current FIPS setting. If this setting is enabled, the value is 1. If this setting is disabled, the value is 0.

Resolution Disabling the FIPSAlgorithmPolicy is currently the only solution available.
